A note from the flow artist about the song: I would like to use this space to shine a light on the music I selected. This beautiful beat created by the creative collaboration of Sylvan Esso actually tells a story of a very sad reality about the way we as humans treat Mother Earth. As a person who grew up next to the ocean, this message speaks volume to me, but it should impact everyone regardless of where they were raised - because it truly was the same, we are all human-beans ;) These artists felt the responsibility to use their talent for the greater cause - PARAD(w/m)E is a cleverly ironic anthem with the purpose to open our eyes to omnipresent ignorance. Most people in our modern society just go about their days rarely devoting any thought to the overall being of our world - the song is a warning, an anthem spoken from the earth, begging us all for more positive attention & purposeful intention when manifesting the destiny of our planet. We should be applauding & sharing these types of artists with a real, genuine message. Thank you! *** Hey Forest Fam! I spun my first baton at the age of 6 & instantly fell in love…with the contact work, the high tosses, creating choreography, feeling the music & telling a story through the movement of my body…It’s like when I held the baton, I felt myself SHAPESHIFT into a human embodiment of art, like a connection to my creative soul that I was able to express without using words...& that feeling never faded. I began competing right away individually & with our local competition team. (The blue costume I am wearing is the last costume I competed in.) A year after I started twirling, I visited Clemson University for their annual “Tiger Twirler for a Day” & I knew right then that I had embarked on my first dream: twirling for a college, specifically for Clemson University. After many years of dedication & once I graduated high school, I officially SHAPE-SHIFTED into a Clemson Tiger Twirler. (The second outfit was my Clemson costume & majorette boots.) Clemson is where I learned more about showmanship and performing as we entertained a stadium of 80,000 fans every weekend. After I graduated Clemson in 2018, I experienced my first magical Electric Forest & discovered the art of Flow Toys. Afterwards, I immediately bought myself glow batons & pushed myself to be a better juggler (which was never my forte growing up) & once again SHAPE-SHIFTED into a new, even more excited, baton twirler, flow performer, & story teller. I have been teaching baton since high school and LOVE teaching… but I never thought that baton twirling would take me further than that… I never would have imagined that my passion for music, community, & baton twirling would take me beyond a competitive & collegiate level…but in 2020, I accepted my first professional gig with Over The Moon Productions in Myrtle Beach & I also worked Revibe Wellness Retreat. (The third outfit is one of my performance costumes for my professional gig and of course, my classic space buns.) My ultimate hope is to inspire others & show them that they too can shape-shift into their most authentic selves & manifest their dreams!! I turn 26 this year on June 25th. I would love to celebrate my birthday & two decades of spinning batons & sharing my passion with all of you in the forest as “The Gal with Glow Batons” ✨ Thank you, HAPPY FOREST!
